Senior Cloud Engineer (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for a cloud enthusiast who can design, build and modernise cloud‑native solutions for our customers. You will work on AWS, Kubernetes and container‑based architectures while driving automation and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect secure, scalable cloud environments tailored to client needs.
• Modernise legacy applications by migrating them to hyperscaler‑native, Kubernetes‑based platforms.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and set up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Lead workshops, evaluate emerging technologies and share best practices across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative knowledge‑sharing culture.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with AWS and transforming legacy workloads to cloud‑native architectures.
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes, containerisation, Terraform, DevSecOps and GitOps principles.
• Strong understanding of software development practices, micro‑services and 12‑factor principles.
• Problem‑solver who values collaboration, mentorship and continuous learning.
