Senior Civil Designer

About the role

The Senior Civil Designer will be responsible for producing civil (concrete) models and detailed drawings in line with accepted engineering practice and company drafting standards. The role requires working safely and contributing to Wood’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies while supporting plant construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce civil (concrete & rebar) models and drawings for plant construction packages, adhering to relevant standards and project requirements.
• Deliver models and drawings on schedule, ensuring they are error‑free and of high quality.
• Maintain clarity and accuracy of all drawings and follow company design and drafting procedures.
• Submit accurate timesheets and respect project man‑hour budgets.
• Assist in training junior draughtspersons.

Required profile

• Sound engineering background with a Diploma in Engineering.
• At least 10 years of design draughting experience, including 5 years in mining or minerals processing.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software and familiarity with company drafting procedures.
• Extensive experience using Revit for concrete, rebar, and architectural layouts.
• Ability to produce detailed, standards‑compliant drawings under demanding schedules.
• Broad knowledge of construction, operations and process‑plant design.
• Strong checking skills, capable of working unsupervised.
• Open‑minded team player.
