Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will support the full lifecycle of material and equipment acquisition for engineering and construction projects, from planning through to close‑out. Working closely with engineering, expediting, logistics and construction teams, the role ensures that all purchasing activities align with project requirements and corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain purchasing procedures, templates and documentation for the project.
• Lead the purchasing team to meet defined objectives and deliverables.
• Prepare and obtain approval for bidder lists and verify technical bid documents.
• Draft bid packages, advise on contractual terms, and issue Invitations to Bid.
• Manage the bidding process, handle technical queries and issue addenda.
• Prepare, issue and track purchase orders for local and international suppliers.
• Coordinate with clients to establish suitable general terms and conditions.
• Facilitate purchase‑order kick‑off meetings and hand over to expediting.
• Control contractual change notices, revisions, claims and back‑charges in accordance with project procedures.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in materials and equipment acquisition for construction or engineering projects.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end purchasing processes, including local and international PO administration.
• Strong understanding of engineering interfaces, expediting, vendor quality surveillance, logistics and site material control.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding a purchasing team.
