Senior Associate – JSE Sponsor Services

About the role

A leading corporate finance advisory firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its JSE Sponsor Services team. The role involves providing specialist advice on JSE Listings Requirements, corporate governance and regulatory compliance to listed companies and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with JSE Listings Requirements, King IV, Companies Act and related legislation.
• Draft and review SENS announcements, ensuring adherence to prescribed timelines.
• Review financial statements, annual reports and corporate governance disclosures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact.
• Attend client AGMs and general meetings, preparing notices, resolutions and related documentation.
• Collaborate with executive directors, boards and company secretaries on governance and compliance matters.
• Review board and committee meeting agendas and support policy development.
• Prepare presentations and training material on JSE Listings compliance.

Required profile

• JSE Approved Equity Executive.
• Admitted Attorney, CA(SA), CFA charter holder or holder of an appropriate university degree.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in a Sponsor Services division of a corporate finance house, investment bank or South African bank.
• Strong practical experience with JSE Listings Requirements, especially continuing obligations and corporate actions.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills.
