Senior Accountant – Site Finance Lead

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Boksburg site on a contract basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will work in a dynamic, forward‑thinking environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly closing process and manage reconciliations for multiple legal entities.
• Prepare accurate cash forecasts and oversee bank account management.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporate income tax submissions.
• Provide financial information for tenders and support the Business Development team.
• Develop and maintain best‑practice policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Monitor balance sheets and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.

Required profile

• CIMA or CA(SA) qualification.
• Solid understanding of financial accounting, management control, and statutory reporting.
• Knowledge of tax matters and financial compliance.
• Experience improving financial procedures and controls.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong skills in PowerPoint.
• Strong skills in Word.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
