Senior Accountant – Pretoria

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant based in Pretoria to manage key financial functions. The role involves handling creditors, debtors, VAT, cash flow and supporting the finance team with accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Support costing and budgeting activities, monitoring actual spend against budgets.
• Track daily cash flow, forecast liquidity needs and participate in stock takes.
• Assist with payroll processing and maintain payee records.
• Use Xero daily for transaction recording, reconciliations and reporting.
• Perform general finance administration and maintain organized records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience.
• Professional certification preferred (SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
