Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the full financial accounting function for property development projects. The role will oversee month‑end and year‑end processes, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate reporting across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Full financial accounting function
• Property development and project accounting
• Management accounts and financial reporting
• Month‑end and year‑end processes
• Accounts payable and receivable
• VAT and statutory accounting
• Cash flow management and banking
• Budgeting and monitoring of project expenditure
• Financial controls and reconciliations
• Sage 300 accounting and system management

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 6–8 years’ relevant accounting experience
• Proven experience at Senior Accountant level
• Strong experience within property development, property investment, construction or a related industry – essential
• Extensive hands‑on experience with Sage 300 Accounting – essential
• Strong understanding of South African accounting principles and practices
• Experience with multiple entities, projects, cost centres and/or property developments – advantageous
• Experience in project accounting and development‑related expenditure – highly advantageous
• Sage 300 implementation, system builds, configuration or customisation experience – strong advantage
• Professional accounting qualification or progress towards one – advantageous
