Senior Account Manager – Public Sector (AWS)

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Account Manager to drive growth of AWS services within the public sector in South Africa. You will work with national, provincial and local government, as well as healthcare and education organisations, to accelerate their digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term account strategies to increase AWS market penetration across public‑sector customers.
• Engage C‑level executives, IT leaders, architects and developers to promote the full AWS portfolio.
• Maintain accurate weekly account activity updates and forecast opportunities in the CRM and other sales tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of field sales experience selling complex cloud or software solutions to large enterprises or government institutions.
• Proven track record of delivering quota‑carrying results and closing large‑scale technology deals.
• Experience presenting to C‑level executives and orchestrating cross‑functional teams.
• Preferred: 5+ years of public‑sector sales experience and exposure to machine‑learning or AI solutions.
