Security Systems Coordinator

About the role

Sasol is seeking a Security Systems Coordinator to manage and coordinate the IT infrastructure that underpins all security technologies across the Secunda site. The role involves close collaboration with IT, security personnel and external vendors to ensure reliable operation of access control, CCTV, intruder detection and CIMMS/OB Online systems.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, health checks and preventive maintenance of CCTV, access‑control, intruder alarm and OB Online systems.
• Manage the network infrastructure (switches, servers, storage) that supports security solutions and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues related to security technologies.
• Lead or support projects for new security technology deployments, upgrades and integrations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of system architecture, configurations and changes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as POPIA and GDPR, and generate performance and incident reports.
• Provide technical support and training to security staff, develop user guides and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• National Diploma in IT, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in security technology or the IT backbone of security systems.
• Relevant certifications in CCTV, alarm, access‑control or CIMMS/OB Online are advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence; PSIRA Grade A, NKP accreditation and firearm competency are desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical, investigative and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
