Security Supervisor

About the role

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Security Supervisor to supervise its security employees and provide security services to the Group. The post reports to the Security Manager and is a permanent position with standard working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security employees, conduct daily parades and uniform inspections, and enforce discipline according to company policy
• Ensure officers are relieved for breaks on schedule and monitor their efficiency and productivity
• Maintain and manage security equipment, perform site inspections and discuss preventative measures
• Carry out initial investigations, report findings to the Security Operations Manager, identify and mitigate risk, and conduct risk assessments
• Investigate and manage on-site incidents, support management and the control room, and ensure compliance with company rules, procedures, policies and occupational health and safety regulations

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy
• Code 8 driver's licence (essential)
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in the safety and security sector
• PSIRA registered with a minimum Grade A
• Willingness to work irregular hours, shifts and overtime; good health and sober habits
• Trustworthy, disciplined, able to work independently and within a team
• Control room experience is an advantage
