Security Controller – Talent Pool (Bloemfontein)

About the role

Dis-Chem is seeking a Security Controller for its Bloemfontein stores. The role focuses on on‑site security response, coordination with an off‑site CCTV monitoring centre, and loss‑prevention activities to protect high‑value stock and company assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alerts from the off‑site CCTV control room.
• Supervise opening and closing procedures, ensuring vigilance at the assigned post.
• Investigate and report suspicious activity, damage, tampering, or unlawful entry.
• Manage high‑risk and high‑value stock, investigate shrinkage and loss incidents.
• Liaise with guests, customers, suppliers and employees while maintaining a professional presence.
• Coordinate real‑time incident investigations with the monitoring centre, including footage review.
• Prepare statements and handle evidence for potential courtroom proceedings.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with B or A accreditation.
• PSIRA registration and at least 2 years retail security experience in a shopping‑mall environment.
• Familiarity with POPIA regulations for handling CCTV footage and personal data.
• Ability to produce written statements and manage evidence for legal processes.

Required skills

• CCTV monitoring and incident reporting systems.
• Digital security and access‑control systems.
• Experience with Hikvision security platforms.
• Knowledge of incident escalation and loss‑prevention protocols.
