Section/Production Manager – Manufacturing (Ref #24717)

About the role

We are seeking a Section/Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Pretoria. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee three shift supervisors and drive efficiency across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve production systems, methods and workflows.
• Monitor productivity, output and man‑hour performance, investigate variances and apply corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Service teams to develop improvement plans that optimise processes, machinery and overall productivity.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production Control and MMIS to ensure parts availability and optimal machine performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and risk controls; identify and report departmental risks.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the department in meetings.
• Manage employee performance, conduct appraisals, support training and handle employee relations matters.
• Assist with budgeting, prepare cost reports and monitor expenditure against budget to identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification (relevant field).
• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years experience in a managerial role overseeing shift supervisors.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of production planning and control.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., MMIS).
• Ability to analyse productivity data and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
