About the role
As the Scientific Communication & Medical Advocacy Manager you will lead the medical affairs and scientific communication strategy for L'Oréal Sub‑Saharan Africa, bridging cutting‑edge science with high‑impact messaging and supporting regional business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in the SSA R&I Management Committee to shape strategy, organisational design and operational ways of working.
- Plan, execute and continuously improve regional scientific communication strategies and medical affairs initiatives.
- Oversee development, review and dissemination of scientific and medical content such as presentations, manuscripts, abstracts and training materials.
- Collaborate with global R&D, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Marketing and Legal teams to ensure scientific rigour and consistent messaging.
- Mentor junior team members, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and manage talent succession.
Required profile
- Advanced post‑graduate qualification (Masters or Ph.D.) in a life‑science or medical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in scientific research, medical communications or medical affairs, preferably in dermo‑cosmetics, pharmaceutical or FMCG.
Required skills
- Strategic thinking and project‑management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a record of scientific publications.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder‑management abilities.
