SCADA Technician

About the role

The SCADA Technician provides essential support to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team and Command Centre, ensuring that all SCADA‑related hardware and software operate reliably across the facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, fault resolution, data reporting and continuous improvement of system standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on SCADA equipment, including substation controllers, MET masts, weather stations, fibre‑optic cables and security systems.
• Execute corrective repairs and troubleshoot unplanned faults on SCADA devices.
• Liaise with colleagues to complete pending SCADA activities and resolve issues promptly.
• Collect, analyse and report operational data, plant performance and contractor activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation aligned with the central SCADA system.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on SCADA performance.
• Identify and escalate SCADA risks or deviations to the Command Centre Manager.
• Support standardisation and optimisation of monitoring systems in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience with SCADA system configuration, setup and maintenance.
• Strong background in preventive maintenance and corrective repair of industrial control equipment.
• Ability to produce accurate technical documentation and performance reports.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety, first aid and fire‑fighting training.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and standardisation of O&M processes.
