About the role
A position has become available for Sample Machinists at Prestige Clothing.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble a garment from start to finish using information from a pattern or Sample Bag (green seal) sent from the Design Centre.
- Operate all machines used to make a sample garment.
- Find ways to make the assembling process production‑friendly.
Required profile
- A valid Service Record Card (SRC) with the Bargaining Council.
- Ability to read and write.
- Capability to interpret patterns, sketches and related information.
- Good understanding of garment construction.
- Problem‑solving skills involving relevant people.
- Knowledge of garment quality standards.
- Punctual, driven and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Required skills
- Operate a variety of sewing machines.
- Sew all types of sample garments (pants, tops, skirts, dresses, jackets) and fabrics (woven, knits).
