Sales Representative – Retail & Construction Solutions

About the role

Saint-Gobain is looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to promote GI products and solutions to retail merchants across South Africa. You will build lasting customer relationships, drive revenue, and support the launch of new product offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Actively sell GI products and solutions to retail merchants and their sales teams.
• Develop sustainable relationships with retailers, contractors, and developers to secure market and project opportunities.
• Communicate the value proposition, offering technical expertise and advice to customers.
• Identify new business opportunities, enhance product mix, and meet local demand forecasts.
• Support marketing initiatives and launch new products to merchant, contractor, and developer groups.
• Deliver presentations to regional teams and customers on product performance.
• Ensure proper merchandising and maintain up‑to‑date CRM records of visits, projects, and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric and a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
• At least three years of experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to identify and act on opportunities.
• Technical competence to translate technical concepts into commercial benefits.
• Demonstrated knowledge of retail account planning and execution.
• Experience and knowledge of the construction market is essential.
