Sales Representative (Hunter) – Machine/Tooling for Mining

About the role

Propel Personnel is seeking a proactive Sales Representative – often called a “Hunter” – to expand the reach of its machine and tooling solutions within the mining sector across South Africa and the wider continent. The role involves building new client relationships, managing a robust sales pipeline, and travelling extensively to meet key decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities with end‑users and contractors to meet annual revenue targets.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies, including entry into new countries, mines and contractor accounts.
• Maintain an accurate, forecast‑ready sales pipeline and negotiate long‑term supply agreements.
• Apply CPM (cost‑per‑metre) and TCO (total‑cost‑of‑ownership) selling methodologies in all proposals.
• Conduct site visits, product trials and failure‑analysis investigations to support recommendations.
• Manage distributor networks, ensuring stock availability, pricing discipline and brand representation.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales, pipeline and market‑intelligence reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Professional, self‑motivated and solutions‑driven with a strong track record in B2B sales.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with mine management, procurement and technical contacts.
• Valid passport and willingness to travel extensively across South Africa and Africa.

Required skills

• Experience with CPM and TCO selling methodologies.
