Sales Representative - Hospitality & Food Industry

About the role

An established business supplying products to the hospitality, restaurant and food‑service sectors is seeking an energetic, commercially driven Sales Representative to expand its customer base across Cape Town. The role is hands‑on, external‑sales focused on developing relationships, prospecting new business and identifying growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Prospect actively for new customers and business opportunities.
• Grow sales across restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessens, food‑service businesses and distributors.
• Promote and sell a diverse range of food, beverage and catering‑related products.
• Conduct cold calling and follow up on prospective customer leads.
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Prepare and deliver customer presentations where required.
• Monitor competitor activity, market developments and industry trends.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience, preferably in an external sales environment.
• Experience within hospitality, restaurant, food‑service, FMCG, beverage, wine or liquor industries is advantageous.
• Strong new business development and prospecting ability.
• Confident cold‑calling and excellent customer relationship management abilities.
• Commercially minded, target driven and self‑motivated.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to travel throughout Cape Town to visit customers.

What we offer

• Basic Salary: R15 000 per month.
• Commission: 3% on sales exceeding R200 000 per month.
• Business mileage reimbursed for approved kilometres.
• Discretionary performance bonus.
