Sales Representative – Cranes & Customer Support

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Sales Representative to drive growth in the mobile crane hire sector for a client based in Gauteng. The role combines new‑business development with dedicated customer support to expand market share and increase revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, discounts and payment terms, ensuring timely resolution of any client complaints.
• Conduct on‑site surveys to assess crane capacity, transport, rigging and equipment requirements.
• Prepare and issue formal quotations in the prescribed format.
• Collect and verify all necessary client documentation such as credit and vendor applications.
• Coordinate with operations to secure bookings, obtain signed hire agreements and ensure payments are received before hire.
• Resolve invoice, log‑sheet and general client queries.
• Maintain daily sales reports and reconcile them with crane utilisation data at month‑end.
• Travel extensively and be available outside standard office hours, including weekend standby.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; a qualification in sales is advantageous.
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar sales or customer‑support role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the mobile crane hire industry and a proven sales track record.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of mobile crane specifications and hire processes.
• Ability to prepare accurate quotations and manage contractual documentation.
• Excellent client relationship and negotiation skills.
