Sales Manager – Legal Research Solutions

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead the acquisition of new customers and drive revenue growth for LexisNexis research solutions in South Africa. This role combines commercial leadership, people management and consultative selling to position AI‑enabled legal research platforms such as Lexis+ South Africa, Lexis+ AI South Africa and Lexis Library.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the Research New Sales team to consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue objectives.
• Develop and execute strategic territory, segment and account plans aligned with broader commercial goals.
• Oversee the full sales cycle from prospecting and solution demonstrations to proposal development, negotiation and deal closure.
• Negotiate commercially sound agreements, including high‑value and multi‑year opportunities.
• Maintain oversight of sales conversion, deal progression, profitability and overall commercial performance.
• Implement proactive business development strategies to generate a healthy pipeline through structured prospecting, networking and targeted campaigns.
• Drive a consultative, value‑led sales approach focused on customer outcomes rather than price.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales teams and delivering new‑customer acquisition in professional or legal services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or surpassing revenue targets.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic territory and account plans.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing high‑value, multi‑year contracts.
• Comfortable driving consultative, value‑based selling conversations with senior decision‑makers.
