Sales Executive – Commodities

About the role

The Sales Executive – Commodities will lead the development and execution of sales strategies to expand our logistics portfolio within the commodities sector. This role focuses on acquiring new clients in mining and trading across Southern Africa and international markets while delivering end‑to‑end logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the logistics portfolio for bulk commodities such as chrome, lithium and copper.
• Identify, approach and secure new clients in the mining and trading sectors across Southern Africa and abroad.
• Manage end‑to‑end logistics solutions, including road, rail and port operations for bulk shipments.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing, ensuring profitability and high service standards.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and customer service teams to guarantee seamless service delivery.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and commodity flows to uncover new business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline and client interactions using CRM tools.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and client meetings.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Matric (minimum).
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing; a degree in Logistics Management is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics or freight sales, preferably within the commodities or mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of Southern African logistics corridors and port operations.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM tools for managing sales pipelines and client data.
