Sales & Customer Associate – Southgate Mall

About the role

homechoice is a leading South African homeware retailer. The Sales Associate delivers an exceptional in‑showroom customer experience by converting visits into sales through product demonstration, needs analysis and accurate order processing. The role focuses on frontline sales execution, customer service, administration and supports the Store Supervisor and Showroom Manager in achieving sales and service targets.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers on the showroom floor, understand their needs and convert interactions into sales.
• Demonstrate products, communicate features, benefits, pricing and promotional offers.
• Achieve individual sales targets, conversion rates and productivity expectations.
• Guide customers through product selection, ordering, payments and after‑sales processes.
• Maintain strong product, category, pricing and promotion knowledge and ensure accurate quoting.
• Capture orders, documentation, payments, refunds and credits accurately and timely.
• Support basic stock handling, floor replenishment and maintain high visual presentation standards.
• Adhere to cash handling, compliance, quality and risk procedures and report any issues.
• Collaborate with team members to meet showroom targets and support promotions, campaigns and shift coverage.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement).
• At least 1 year of retail sales experience, preferably in a target‑driven environment.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Clear credit and criminal record.
• Homewares retail experience is advantageous.
