Sales Assistant – Stock Control & Customer Support

About the role

The Sales Assistant supports the sales team on the Johannesburg central floor by ensuring outbound stock is accurately checked and delivered to buyers. The role focuses on minimizing stock losses, maintaining product quality, and providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Control outbound stock by comparing items to the market removal slip.
• Drive initiatives to reduce stock losses and enforce removal procedures.
• Perform product quality checks on outgoing stock.
• Pack and repack pallets to optimise space and safety.
• Respond to customer enquiries and direct them to the appropriate salesperson.
• Build and maintain relationships with buyers.
• Greet and proactively assist potential buyers on the sales floor.
• Assist the sales team with daily stock counts and rotation.
• Receive and check incoming consignments.
• Perform any additional tasks requested to support operations and customer service.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work 04:00‑12:30, Monday to Saturday.
