About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a salaried Financial Advisor to join its talent pool in Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on delivering professional financial advice to an allocated market segment while driving new business and supporting client retention.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality customer service, process cases, resolve complex queries and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Analyze client issues to propose technical or professional solutions.
• Receive and assist visitors, directing complex matters to appropriate colleagues.
• Enter follow‑up actions and client information into the CRM system to maintain accurate data for retention and development activities.
• Conduct sales calls, tailor presentations, and gather information to assess client interest and needs.
• Develop and execute relationship‑management plans for prospective accounts, building networks with decision‑makers.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory codes and obtain necessary authorisations for procedural exceptions.
• Monitor sales and market data for the assigned geographic region to identify development opportunities.
• Represent the organisation at sector events, gather market intelligence and enhance brand visibility.
• Research and select relevant data to support analysis and decision‑making.
