SAIPA Trainee – Accounting Articles 2027 Intake

About the role

Kreston SA is seeking motivated accounting graduates to join its Pretoria office as SAIPA Trainees for the 2027 intake. This apprenticeship offers a structured pathway to become a Professional Accountant, providing hands‑on experience across a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare cashbook entries, reconcile bank statements and manage client bank accounts.
• Handle creditor invoices, supplier reconciliations and payment batches.
• Post standard and ad‑hoc journal entries and manage recurring financial transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts, monthly reporting packs and annual financial statements.
• Support tax compliance activities, including VAT, PAYE and income tax.
• Liaise directly with clients on accounting, tax and reporting matters.

Required profile

• Completed BCom Financial Accounting degree or equivalent.
• South African citizen residing in or willing to relocate to Pretoria.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance, high integrity and reliability.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
