SAICA Trainee – Accounting Graduate Position

About the role

The SAICA Trainee position offers recent accounting graduates a structured pathway into the Chartered Accountant profession. You will work on a variety of client engagements, gaining hands‑on experience in accounting, tax compliance and financial analysis while supporting senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations, financial analysis and general accounting tasks.
• Assist with tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE and Income Tax submissions.
• Support senior accountants and audit managers on client engagements.
• Maintain accurate records and timesheets in line with SAICA requirements.
• Complete all required SAICA competencies and training assessments.
• Ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Completed a SAICA‑accredited BCom Accounting degree.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the Chartered Accountant profession.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
