SAICA Trainee Accountant (Afrikaans speaking)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated SAICA Trainee Accountant who is fluent in Afrikaans and English to join our audit and accounting team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will undertake a SAICA training contract while gaining hands‑on experience across audits, financial reporting, bookkeeping and tax compliance for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior auditors on external audit and assurance engagements.
• Prepare annual financial statements for various entities.
• Perform day‑to‑day accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
• Support tax compliance activities, including preparation of returns.

Required profile

• Completed BCom Accounting or a comparable accounting degree, or currently in at least the second year of study.
• Clear intention to complete a SAICA training contract.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence are advantageous.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Basic understanding of audit procedures.
• Awareness of South African tax regulations.
