Sage X3 Developer & Functional Consultant (Hybrid, Pretoria)

About the role

Our client, a leading technology solutions provider in South Africa, is looking for a senior Sage X3 Developer / Functional Consultant to join the enterprise systems team in Pretoria. The position is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on delivering end‑to‑end ERP solutions that support finance, distribution and manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications for Sage X3.
• Develop and customise Sage X3 using the 4GL language, building screens, scripts, workflows and objects.
• Manage SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, triggers and performance tuning.
• Create reports with Crystal Reports and Sage X3 reporting tools.
• Implement integrations via REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and other web services.
• Configure finance, distribution and manufacturing modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, BOM, MRP, Production).
• Lead user acceptance testing, provide training and documentation, and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Drive continuous optimisation and support the ERP lifecycle, including patches and upgrades.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience with Sage X3, including 4GL development.
• Strong background in SQL Server database management.
• Proven experience delivering full ERP implementation projects.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and communicate with stakeholders across finance, supply chain and manufacturing.
