SACPCMP Registered Professional Construction Project Manager

About the role

Vish Services is seeking a SACPCMP‑registered Professional Construction Project Manager to lead a portfolio of water retention, road and dam infrastructure projects. The role is full‑time, office‑based in Sandton and serves as the primary point of contact for project management activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets for water retention and road infrastructure works.
• Oversee all construction phases from initiation to hand‑over, including procurement, subcontractor appointments and resource allocation.
• Implement and monitor project controls such as cost reporting, progress tracking and risk management.
• Ensure technical compliance with design specifications, engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve technical drawings, method statements and quality‑assurance plans.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical challenges related to earthworks, pavement construction, drainage, dams, reservoirs and water‑treatment facilities.
• Manage client relationships, consultant teams and liaison with regulatory bodies.
• Administer JBCC, FIDIC or NEC contracts and chair progress meetings, preparing reports for steering committees.
• Ensure compliance with environmental authorisations and water‑use licences.

Required profile

• Professional registration with SACPCMP as a Construction Project Manager.
• BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or equivalent (NQF Level 7).
• Minimum three years post‑registration experience in civil engineering construction.
• Proven track record managing water‑infrastructure and dam projects valued at R5 million +.
• Experience with reinforced concrete and earthworks is advantageous.

Required skills

• Computer‑aided design (CAD).
• Project controls: cost reporting, progress tracking, risk management.
• Technical compliance and quality‑assurance procedures.
• JBCC contract administration.
• FIDIC, NEC and other relevant construction contract knowledge.
• Water‑infrastructure design and construction (dams, reservoirs, drainage, treatment).

What we offer

• Net salary of R35,000 per month.
• Two‑year renewable fixed‑term contract with possibility of permanent appointment after two years.
