About the role
The Cape Town EDITION Hotel is seeking a proactive Room Service Supervisor to lead the room service team during its pre‑opening phase. You will ensure seamless service delivery, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and support the launch of the hotel’s food and beverage operations.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate room service staff to deliver prompt, courteous service and meet guest expectations.
- Inspect staff grooming, attire, and overall presentation, correcting any deficiencies.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing the area.
- Maintain organized storage areas, enforce FIFO inventory practices, and conduct regular inventories.
- Monitor dining areas for seating availability, safety, and guest wellbeing.
- Complete work orders for maintenance and report any safety or security incidents.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee coaching.
- Uphold company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Required profile
- Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including extended shifts.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and navigate confined spaces.
- Professional communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
