Risk Control Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Risk Control Specialist to lead safety, health and environmental (SHE) initiatives within our manufacturing plant. The role focuses on managing risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage company risks in line with Safety Assurance and Environmental Protection policies.
• Develop, implement and audit SHE policies, procedures and risk assessments.
• Conduct internal audits to meet OHS Act, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Lead divisional SHE committee meetings, record minutes and drive action plans.
• Oversee fire equipment maintenance, ASIB compliance and emergency response readiness.
• Investigate incidents, produce reports and enforce corrective actions.
• Control site waste streams and ensure environmental legislation compliance.
• Manage on‑site contractors and deliver induction training.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent.
• Internal Auditing Certificate for ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHS Act.
• SAMTRAC certification (non‑negotiable).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Health & Safety practitioner in a unionised manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to develop, implement and audit SHE risk control programmes.
