Risk Consulting Consultant – Property Damage Claims

About the role

Join Marsh's Advisory, Risk Consulting division in Sandton on a hybrid schedule. As a Consultant you will lead the preparation and quantification of complex property damage insurance claims, working closely with clients, loss adjusters and legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of complex property damage claims, gathering and analysing data, documentation and evidence.
• Accurately quantify damages using industry‑standard methodologies and tools.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing expert advice throughout the claims process.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate findings, methodologies and recommendations.
• Mentor and train junior consultants and support staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations and best practices.
• Collaborate with legal teams, loss adjusters and other stakeholders to resolve disputes.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Engineering degree.
• 5–7 years of experience in property damage insurance claims consulting or a related field.
• Experience with Energy, Power and Construction claims is advantageous.
• Strong numerical and data‑analytics aptitude.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and travel on short notice.
