Risk & Analytics Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded financial risk specialist to strengthen our Group’s risk, liquidity and balance‑sheet capabilities. Reporting to the Group Chief Risk & Analytics Officer, you will support a diversified financial services organisation operating in South Africa and North America.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the monthly liquidity stress‑testing framework, challenging assumptions and translating results into cash‑flow insights.
• Drive Asset & Liability Management (ALM), funding strategy, commercial paper programmes and capital planning, aligning them with ICAAP/ILAAP requirements.
• Analyse key risk indicators, monitor emerging trends and recommend enhancements to financial risk measurement.
• Quality‑assure the Group Risk Report, interrogating operational risk data across business units.
• Review and challenge IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models, interpreting impairment outcomes for executive management.
• Conduct data‑driven deep dives into credit risk to optimise underwriting and portfolio profitability.

Required profile

• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
• Hands‑on specialist with proven experience in liquidity risk, treasury and ALM.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to work independently while partnering with senior leadership.
