Revit Draughtsman / BIM Modeller (Electrical) – Cape Town

About the role

This is an electrical engineering consulting company seeking a Revit Draughtsman/BIM Modeller (Electrical) to work on multiple MEP projects, delivering accurate and professional documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D Revit models for electrical building services, including small power, cable tray routing, lighting layouts, distribution board placements, emergency backup/UPS systems, solar PV, and lightning protection.
• Generate plans, single‑line diagrams, schematic diagrams, sections, detail callouts, and schedules from the BIM model for tender, construction, and record purposes.
• Link architectural, structural, and mechanical (HVAC/wet services) models into the electrical workspace.
• Run clash checks using Navisworks or BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud and resolve spatial conflicts with HVAC, structural, or plumbing elements.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, architects, and MEP consultants to resolve clashes before construction.
• Ensure drawing layouts comply with South African National Standards (e.g., SANS 10142‑1), Cape Town municipal bylaws, and internal drafting standards.
• Manage drawing revision tables, issue sheets, and document control within a Common Data Environment such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Required profile

• Matric Certificate and a Draughting qualification (certificate level or higher).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on electrical projects (MEP experience considered).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience using Revit.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Own reliable transport.
