Retail Shopping Centre Manager – Soweto

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Retail Shopping Centre Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations and financial performance of a shopping centre in Soweto. The role involves maximising income, maintaining tenant relationships, and ensuring the centre runs safely and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily centre operations, maintain high presentation standards and coordinate inspections, repairs and tenant fit‑outs.
• Manage service providers and contractors, ensuring service level agreements and compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Develop and implement leasing strategies, negotiate renewals and new leases, and optimise tenant mix.
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, track income and expenses, analyse arrears and support legal recovery where needed.
• Monitor contractor performance, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure facilities meet operational and safety standards.
• Lead, coach and develop on‑site staff, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail property or shopping centre management.
• Strong commercial acumen and operational management experience.
• Customer‑focused approach with ability to build and maintain tenant relationships.
