Retail Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead our up‑market store operations in Johannesburg. The role will be responsible for driving sales, managing a high‑performing team, and ensuring compliance with brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define store‑level targets and individual goals.
• Communicate direction, targets and expectations to the team.
• Conduct weekly team meetings for clarity and alignment.
• Monitor and manage sales‑related reports and compliance.
• Implement action plans and manage staff performance to meet targets.
• Plan and deliver store‑level objectives and allocate workloads.
• Ensure adherence to branding and merchandising standards.
• Oversee marketing plans and store training programmes.
• Lead sales, SMB and services/repair business.
• Plan and optimise stock levels in collaboration with supply chain.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a large retail environment.
• Matriculation (high school) essential.
• Proven track record in driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Extensive knowledge of retail operations and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in matrix management to ensure cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong customer relationship building and solution orientation.
• Ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Strategic decision‑making in a fast‑paced operational environment.
