Retail Manager

About the role

The Retail Manager will oversee all store operations in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, ensuring smooth daily functioning while driving profitability. The role focuses on increasing customer traffic, maintaining stock availability, and delivering excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stock ordering, receiving, and control using ERP and Meat Matrix systems.
• Monitor daily stock levels, run depletion reports, and address shrinkage.
• Maintain store cleanliness and HACCP standards across all areas, including chillers and deli sections.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise store staff, handling employee relations and performance.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Grade 12; Diploma or Degree in Retail, Business or related field is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of retail experience, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
• Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, and profitability analysis.
• Familiarity with FMCG environment, perishable product handling, and relevant legislation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Meat Matrix stock management software.
