Retail Community Team Leader

About the role

Absolute Pets is looking for a Retail Community Leader who will be responsible for leading day‑to‑day retail operations while transforming the store into a thriving community destination. The role combines operational excellence with community engagement to create a space where pet parents not only shop but also connect with the brand and each other.

Key responsibilities

• Drive store sales and gross profit targets through effective merchandising, service standards and stock management.
• Lead and develop store staff, ensuring they deliver world‑class service and act as brand ambassadors.
• Plan and execute local store initiatives, community events and activities that encourage repeat visits and strengthen customer loyalty.
• Maintain full stock levels, place orders, and minimise loss and shrinkage.
• Oversee all administrative duties, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• 1‑2 years experience in a leadership or people‑management role, preferably in retail.
• Creative mindset with a proven ability to improve customer experience and drive sales.
• Experience or strong interest in the pet industry.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills, plus a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
