Retail Business Manager – KwaZulu Natal Region

About the role

The Retail Business Manager will lead profitable growth across a portfolio of retail accounts in the KwaZulu‑Natal region. You will develop and execute account strategies, maximise customer profitability and ensure disciplined execution through strong partner engagement and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sales targets for volume, revenue, margin and customer profitability across assigned accounts.
• Design and implement territory and account strategies to increase market share and strengthen customer retention.
• Support pricing execution, margin optimisation and provide accurate sales forecasts for business planning.
• Build and execute development plans for strategic customers, applying segmentation and profitability analysis.
• Lead value‑based negotiations and maintain effective relationships with retail partners and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations, supply, finance, marketing and HSSE to align on shared objectives.
• Drive consistent execution of retail standards, brand requirements and HSSE expectations, monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field‑based sales, retail commercial management or key account management.
• Strong capability in account strategy, business development and building customer value propositions.
• Solid commercial and analytical skills, including business analysis, customer and competitor insight, segmentation, profitability analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship‑building abilities with a customer‑first mindset.
