Retail Branch Manager – Athlone

About the role

The Retail Branch Manager will lead the Athlone branch of Sanlam Developing Markets, driving customer acquisition and revenue growth. You will be responsible for executing the branch strategy, ensuring excellent client experience, and managing day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the retail branch strategy to grow the customer base and revenue.
• Guide, integrate and standardise activities of Sales Consultants in line with strategic goals.
• Lead a service‑delivery culture to provide an optimal client experience.
• Oversee daily branch operations, including compliance, quality and risk management.
• Manage people practices for direct reports in partnership with HR (talent, performance, development, grievances, leave, capacity).
• Plan and report monthly sales and service activities.
• Identify and engage key internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with RE1 and RE5.
• 120 Wealth Management credits or a tertiary qualification recognised by the FSCA.
• Minimum 5 years recent industry experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Service management, insurance sales, and credit/lending experience.
• Current compliance with CPD cycles and annual Class of Business accreditation.
