Retail Assistant – Customer Service & Sales

About the role

The Retail Assistant will be the first point of contact for customers in our Pretoria store, providing friendly service and helping shoppers find the right products. This role combines customer interaction, sales support and basic store operations to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, understand their needs and guide them in product selection.
• Process cash and card transactions, issue refunds and manage the point‑of‑sale (POS) system accurately.
• Receive deliveries, unpack merchandise and conduct regular stock counts.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and keep the sales floor tidy.
• Achieve daily sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
• Own reliable transport to commute to the store.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Experience using a POS system for cash and card payments.
