Restaurant General Manager – Morningside

About the role

The Franchise Co is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a busy restaurant in Morningside, Johannesburg. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house activities.
• Lead, motivate and develop restaurant staff.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Control stock, ordering and daily purchasing.
• Monitor food cost, gross profit and overall financial performance.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly administrative reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and company policies.
• Schedule staff, handle performance management and training.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of restaurant management experience.
• Strong experience in both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations.
• Proven ability to manage stock, purchasing and cost controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Own reliable transport and contactable references.
