Residential Facility Manager – Cape Town

About the role

A reputable organisation in the care sector is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Facility Manager to take overall responsibility for the effective day‑to‑day management of a residential care facility in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the well‑being and daily needs of elderly, disabled and terminally ill residents.
• Conduct daily resident checks, monitor health status and liaise with the Care Manager and health professionals.
• Facilitate admission, onboarding of new residents and support the facility’s sales process.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff and committees.
• Manage facility budgets, purchasing, petty cash, invoices and monthly financial returns.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, housekeeping and catering services, meeting dietary requirements.
• Oversee maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles and other assets.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety, WCA, POPIA and organisational policies.
• Lead, develop and manage staff through training, performance management, rostering and disciplinary processes.

Required profile

• A qualification in Business Management, Hospitality Management or a related field (advantageous).
• Proven experience managing a residential care or hotel facility, including budget preparation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong leadership, organisational, planning and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and solve problems or crises.
