Reservations & Inventory Assistant

About the role

The Reservations & Inventory Assistant supports FIT reservations and inventory management, ensuring accurate availability and booking information across client and in‑house reservation systems. The position is remote within South Africa and works 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, aligned with UK business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Keep client extranets updated with current availability.
• Manage the in‑house allocation system and support the FIT team.
• Enter FIT bookings into reservation systems and process cancellations or amendments.
• Maintain accurate client data files and assist the accounts department with late payments when needed.
• Provide weekend coverage (approximately two hours) and manage the emergency phone on a rotating basis.

Required profile

• Basic experience in travel reservations with a hotel group or tour operator (preferred).
• Advanced spoken and written English; additional languages such as Italian, French or Spanish are a plus.
• Understanding of allocation and Freesale concepts.
• Computer literate with experience using a PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong telephone manner, self‑motivation and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
