Reservationist - Hotels and Apartments

Career Growth, a hospitality recruitment firm, is recruiting a Reservationist for its client's accommodation portfolio in Cape Town, covering hotels and apartments. The role suits someone with hotel reservations or Front Office experience, strong administration skills and a friendly, professional approach to guest communication. It involves managing enquiries and bookings, following up on payments and working with property teams to ensure a smooth pre-arrival experience.

Key responsibilities

• Handle reservation enquiries and bookings across direct and online channels, including extranets.
• Follow up on enquiries and provisional bookings to secure confirmed reservations.
• Process advance deposits and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare arrival lists and share booking details and guest requirements with Front Office.
• Monitor monthly long-stay apartment accounts.
• Follow up on and reconcile Post Master balances daily.
• Review duplicate reservations and monitor availability to make the best use of room inventory.
• Maintain accurate booking records and build positive relationships with guests, agents and colleagues.

Required profile

• A minimum of one year's hotel reservations or Front Office experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks promptly and accurately.
• A professional, guest-focused approach and personal integrity.
• A Hotel School qualification would be an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience using Opera PMS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
