Renal Unit Manager

About the role

The Renal Unit Manager will lead the Renal Unit at Life Queenstown Private Hospital, reporting to the Nurse Manager. This senior nursing role is responsible for coordinating clinical practice, resources and people to achieve high‑quality patient outcomes and organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective clinical leadership and oversee implementation of nursing care plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary treatment programmes to achieve targeted clinical outcomes.
• Ensure staff competence, supervise students and promote a learning environment.
• Drive customer satisfaction, handle complaints and conduct quality care rounds and audits.
• Implement national quality initiatives and monitor safety risks, applying corrective actions as needed.
• Lead people‑management processes, embody LHC values and sponsor improvement projects.
• Participate in budgeting, manage nursing costs, stock utilisation and equipment training.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including doctors, patients and service providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in clinical leadership within a renal or similar specialised unit.
• Strong ability to manage people, budgets and resources effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and regulatory compliance.
