Remote Gaming Production & Design Lecturer

About the role

The SAE Institute Distance Learning Campus seeks a remote Distance Learning Facilitator for Gaming Production and Design. You will support students, assess their work, and share your industry passion while ensuring high‑quality online education.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve institutional pass‑rate targets and mark assessments with constructive feedback.
• Track and support students "at risk", providing counselling and academic guidance.
• Contribute to curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain required industry research output and stay current with gaming trends.
• Ensure student satisfaction through timely communication and support.
• Perform administrative tasks related to the modules you facilitate.
• Lead online discussions, forums, and other virtual learning activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a relevant field; a related bachelor’s degree is also required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in gaming production, scripting, or digital art.
• At least 2 years of higher‑education lecturing or teaching experience.
• Experience with online facilitation and proficiency in Learning Management Systems and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of academic compliance and student support processes.
• Passion for games studies, theory, and the mission of the institution.

Required skills

• C# programming (C++ a plus).
• Unity, Twine, and Unreal Engine.
• 3D pipeline tools such as Blender or Maya.
• 2D pipeline tools such as Krita or Photoshop.
• Learning Management System administration.
• Microsoft Office suite.
