Remote Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer to lead privacy and PII compliance initiatives for a global IT services and consulting leader. The contractor will design, implement, and monitor data protection strategies across international markets, ensuring adherence to GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies aligned with global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and DPIAs to verify compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external data protection inquiries.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver training on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP are preferred.
• Proven experience with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and privacy‑by‑design frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to close compliance gaps.

• Interpretation and application of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA.
