Remote Backend Software Developer – Contract

About the role

We are seeking a remote Backend Software Developer on a contract basis to design and implement scalable software solutions for a global technology leader. The role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using best‑practice coding and architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript).
• Experience with relevant software development frameworks and libraries.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to write optimized, scalable code.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across time zones.
