Remote Animation & Motion Design Facilitator

About the role

The SAE Institute Distance (online) Campus is seeking a remote Animation and Motion Design Facilitator to join its academic team. You will be responsible for upholding academic integrity while delivering high‑quality instruction and support to online learners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and assess animation and motion‑design curriculum in a fully online environment.
• Provide student support, mentorship, and feedback throughout the learning journey.
• Maintain academic standards, moderation, and evaluation processes in line with SAE Institute’s vision and mission.
• Manage curriculum updates, assessment strategies, and gradebook administration.
• Collaborate with fellow lecturers and the Head of Academic (HOA) to ensure cohesive program delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a related field (Animation, Motion Design, Digital Arts, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of lecturing or teaching experience in higher education.
• At least two years of professional experience in 2D or 3D animation.
• Experience facilitating online workshops and managing learning platforms.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Toon Boom Harmony.
• Advanced use of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate (or comparable 2D animation software).
• Competence in 3D animation and sculpting using Blender.
• Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
